Understanding your bill

Why was I charged a deposit?

We ask all non-direct debit customers to pay a security deposit. This is because you're billed in arrears i.e., for energy you’ve already used.

You may see this on your bill if you’ve just signed up to SSE Airtricity, or have changed payment methods recently. If you switch to direct debit you’ll receive a full refund.
