Will I continue to receive my CEG payment once my meter type becomes eligible for a smart meter?

1. If you’ve been receiving a Deemed Export CEG (Clean Export Guaranteed ) payment due to your meter not been eligible for a smart meter exchange and your meter type has now become eligible, you’ll continue to receive a Deemed Export CEG payment. Once your Smart meter has been installed you will then be moved away from a Deemed Export CEG payment to a Smart Metered Export CEG payment as your data will now be based on your new Smart meter.

2. If you’ve not received any CEG payment and your meter type is eligible for a Smart Meter exchange, you’ll need to have your Smart meter installed before you can expect your CEG payment. This payment will be a Smart Metered export CEG payment as your data will be based on your new Smart meter.

3. If you’ve been receiving a Deemed Export CEG payment and have now become eligible for a Smart meter exchange, please note, that if you opt out of receiving your Smart meter you will no longer receive any export payment until you opt back into the Smart meter exchange programme and have your Smart meter installed.

Once you opt back in and have your Smart meter installed, you’ll start to receive a Smart Metered export CEG payment as your data will be based on your new Smart meter.
